Emmalyse Brownstein is a freelance writer and journalist. Most recently, she wrote a feature on Gen Zers flocking to work for billionaires: Megayachts, dog poop, and NDAs. She also launched a Substack called Interesting Person where she publishes personal essays and blogs.

Before freelancing, Emmalyse spent three years covering Wall Street culture for Business Insider. Her stories took readers inside some of the world’s most powerful financial institutions, illuminating everything from the high-pressure lives of junior bankers and Gen Z’s arrival on Wall Street to internal clashes over return-to-office mandates, the industry’s cutthroat recruiting culture, and the emergence of Wall Street South.

She previously reported for McClatchy Media’s network of local newspapers; wrote about music, arts, and culture for Miami New Times; and spent a summer copyediting news wire stories at The New York Times.
